A successful borehole project

The Clean Water Borehole Project in Umuokpoko, Imo State, Nigeria, was successfully completed in 2026, bringing safe and reliable drinking water to over 500 residents.

Before the project, families—especially women and children—had to walk long distances to fetch water from unsafe sources, which led to some health issues.

Through donor funding, a modern borehole system powered with solar energy and storage tanks was installed at a central location in the village.

The project was carefully supervised to ensure quality and sustainability. Additionally, a community water committee was established to oversee maintenance and ensure the long-term operation of the system.

Children will spend more time in school instead of fetching water, health conditions will definitely improve, and the overall quality of life in Umuokpoko increase.

This project served as a powerful example of how collective effort and effective planning can create lasting, positive change in rural communities.

A curse that has existed for decades has finally been lifted. People are extremely happy that they can drink clean water.
